
Bighorns Snap Losing Streak, Defeat Jam

Bakersfield, CA - The Reno Bighorns (9-12) snapped a four-game losing streak and defeated the Bakersfield Jam (17-8) 111-105 Saturday night in Bakersfield.
The Bighorns used a balanced attack to beat the Jam, with seven players in double digits. Walker Russell, Jr. led the Bighorns with 24 points and 11 assists. Dar Tucker, in his first start of the year, had a season-high 20 points, while Samardo Samuels had 16 points. Patrick O'Bryant added 12 points off the bench. Jerome Jordan and Marcus Landry each had 11 points, and Antoine Wright chipped in 10 points.
The Jam were led by Damion James' 27 points and 12 rebounds. Brian Butch recorded another double-double, with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bighorns led the entire game, leading by 20 points at one time. The Jam cut Reno's lead to two points with 13 seconds left, but the Bighorns were able to hang on for the win. Reno shot 44 free throws, making 31, compared to the Jam's 21 free throws.
Reno hits the road again next weekend for a two-game set against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Fans can watch the games for free, online via Youtube.
