Chicago Blaze News Release

Naperville, IL - The Chicago Blaze will be very busy this weekend as they host the Birmingham Power (1-2) on Saturday, 7p.m. at North Central College, and then travel to Springfield, MA to challenge the Springfield Spirit (1-2). "This weekend is very important for us," said Blaze General Manger Robert Graham. I think the loss to Colorado got our players' attention. They will have to be totally focused this weekend."

The Power are led by Chicago native Alisa Burras (WNBA Seattle Storm / Marshall High School) who is averaging 13 points and 9 rebounds.

The Blaze this week lost center Mfon Udoka who has opted to take an offer abroad and center Monika Roberts, who is still suffering from a shoulder injury. They will look to Santia Jackson to man the middle this weekend. "Losing Mfon and Monika definitely depleted our front court," said Blaze head coach Cheryl Littlejohn, "but we will make up for their loss with our quickness."

The Blaze will travel to Springfield, Mass. Sunday morning to take on the Spirit.

The Chicago Blaze is entering its third season in the NWBL. The Blaze will play a 22-game schedule through March 23 and will play its home games at Merner Fieldhouse located at North Central College in Naperville, IL.
