Angel Landuzuri and Chris Bishop combined to limit Bend to five hits in leading the visiting Corvallis Knights to a 2-1 victory in game one of the best of three West Coast League semi-finals playoff series Tuesday evening at Vince Genna Stadium.
Billy King slugged a solo home run in the fourth inning to provide the only score for the Elks. Brock Carpenter had two hits for Bend.
Corvallis pushed across solo runs in the fifth and eighth innings to overcome the 1-0 Bend advantage. Dane Lund doubled and scored on Dalton Kelly's sacrifice fly to tie the game. Marc Gallegos walked to lead off the eighth, was sacrificed to second by pinch hitter Tim Rausch and came home on Jackson Soto's single to centerfield.
Bishop earned the victory with four innings of scoreless relief for Corvallis.
Game two of the three-game series takes place at Coleman Field at Goss Stadium on the campus of Oregon State University on Wednesday evening. If game three is necessary, the Knights and Elks will square off on Thursday in Corvallis.
