
Bencomo Nasty on the Hill for Lemurs

Laredo, TX - Laredo Lemurs (11-11) starting pitcher Omar Bencomo (2-0) was stellar in his second start for the Lemurs as he shuts down the hot-hitting Kansas City T-Bones (8-13) 4-0 as the Lemurs salvaged a victory in the final game of the series on Sunday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.
Bencomo started off hot, only allowing one base hit in the first three innings. He retired the side in order four times and three batters came to the plate in an inning five times. The final line for Bencomo included eight innings pitched, five hits, no runs, no walks and five strikeouts. He has started two games for the Lemurs and has pitched in 16 innings, allowing only one walk in that time.
The Lemurs offense on Sunday night was led by first baseman Tony Delmonico as he went two for three with a solo home run and a double with 2 total RBI's.
Kansas City starter Casey Barnes took the loss as he went five and a third, giving up four runs on nine hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
Tomorrow the Laredo Lemurs will welcome the Three Rivers Eagles to Uni-Trade Stadium for a three-game series. The Lemurs will send starter Sam Martin (1-1) to the mound to try and get his second win of the season. Game time on Monday night is set for 7:30pm.
