Bench helps Patroons win 103-100 over East Kentucky

After suffering their first defeat in five games Wednesday night, the Albany Patroons exacted revenge upon the East Kentucky Miners, defeating their division opponents 103-100 Thursday night at the East Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville, Ky. Albany took 5 1/2 of a possible seven quarterpoints, winning the second and fourth quarters and tying the third with the Miners.

Nat Burton led all Patroons in scoring with 26 points, going 10-15 from the floor. Center Amal McCaskill scored 22 points; he also pulled down 12 rebounds and added 5 assists to his totals. Albany's bench proved to be the difference in this game, outscoring the Miners' bench 33-12; the Patroons had 10 steals to the Miners' 5; and 22 assists to East Kentucky's 14. Included in the bench scoring was Albany's Jason "J-Bird" Williams, whose ten points included two first-half 3-pointers.

Josh Pace was the top scorer for the Miners, with 20 points; James "Boo" Jackson's 18 points were ugmented with 13 rebounds; center Reo Logan earned a double-double of 11 points and 11 boards.

The Patroons next head home for a two-game series with the Oklahoma Cavalry; Albany hosts the Cavs on Saturday, December 22 and Christmas Day, December 25; then will travel to Minot, N.D. to face the Skyrockets for the first time this season.
