Beloit Snappers Announce Promotional Calendar

BELOIT, WI - The Beloit Snappers have announced their promotional schedule for the 2017 season. The upcoming season will be highlighted by eight firework shows, three bobblehead giveaways, and two brand new daily promotions to join a lineup of returning fan favorites. Opening Day is April 6 at 6:30 p.m. against the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins).

Bobbleheads & Giveaways

Once again in 2017, the Snappers will be handing out three bobbleheads featuring Beloit players from the past. One of these will feature former Beloit Brewer Chris Bosio, currently the pitching coach of the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. Bosio played in Beloit in 1983-84 and had a rehab assignment in 1990. He owns the franchise record for strikeouts (229) and complete games (14). The first bobblehead of 2017 will be on Father's Day featuring Bruce Maxwell. He played on Beloit's first team affiliated with the Oakland Athletics in 2013 and reached the Majors last July. Renato Nunez will be the final bobblehead of the year, who also played for Beloit in 2013 and made his Major League debut with the Athletics last season. Maxwell and Nunez were both Midwest League All-Stars in 2013. Below is the full list of 2017 giveaways:

Fireworks

Blowing stuff up never looked so good. Fireworks will light up the sky around Pohlman Field on eight nights this season. Six of these nights will appear after Saturday night games from June to the end of the season. The two exceptions will be Friday, June 30 and Monday, July 3. Daily Promotions

Joining an All-Star lineup in 2017 are two brand new daily promotions. Each Friday at Pohlman Field is More For Your Money Friday presented by Sheena Hanson and John Berkley of Uncommon Cents Investing. Fans can cash in on 4 general admission tickets, four hot dogs, four fountain soft drinks, one cotton candy, and a box of popcorn for just $40. Also new in 2017, each Wednesday night game at Pohlman Field is 6-4-3 Double Play Wednesday. General admission tickets will be $6, $4 for 20 oz. craft beers on draft, and small orders of cheese curds are $3 during every Wednesday night home game. Double bubble mix drinks will also be on special through the third inning. Those new days of the week join the following promotional days:

. 2-for-1 BOGO Day & Mercyhealth's Kids Day - Check the Wednesday Edition of the Stateline News, Janesville Messenger, and Walworth County Shopper for your BOGO coupon for reserved seat tickets (up to two free tickets per coupon) to Sunday home games. Kids 12-and-under get to run the bases and play catch in right field, courtesy of Mercyhealth. Leinie's and New Glarus Spotted Cow 12 oz. cans and 16 oz. Pabst Blue Ribbon cans are just $2.

. WJVL/WCLO Monster Deal Monday - Two general admission tickets, two hot dogs, two fountain soft drinks, two popcorns, and two adjustable hats, all for just $26. That's a savings of more than $40 thanks to WJVL and WCLO. 12 oz. drafts of Miller and Coors products are just $1.50, courtesy of MillerCoors.

. Two Dollar Tuesday - General admission tickets, hot dogs, brats, pizza, 12 oz. domestic drafts and 16 oz. Pabst Blue Ribbon cans, and fountain drinks can all be purchased for $2. This evening of savings are brought to you by Advia Credit Union.

. Thirsty Thursday - Same name. New deal. Enjoy the full selection of draft beers at Pohlman Field for just $2 through the fifth inning. Make sure to check out the theme for that night to receive half off your ticket to the game.

Special Promotional Dates

The Snappers will also be rolling out several special theme nights throughout the season. Bring all your Parrothead pals on June 17 when Pohlman Field transforms into Snapperitaville. The Hawaiian-themed jerseys worn by Snappers players that night will be auctioned off. The 501st Imperial Legion will return for Star Wars Night on June 29. The traveling act "Inflatamaniacs" will visit Beloit on July 8 to perform at Pohlman Field. There will also be two fan batting practice events this season. The Beloit Snappers are a member of the Midwest League and have been the Single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics since 2013. Opening Day for the Snappers 36th season is April 6, 2017 at Pohlman Field as the Snappers host the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
