Bellingham Slam News Release

Bellingham, WA - The Bellingham Slam have announced that they have signed 6'8" center Eric Sandrin to a contract. Making the announcement was Slam general manager Bob Hofstetter. Sandrin, a graduate of Seattle Pacific University, returns to the ABA after playing part of last season with the Bellevue Blackhawks. After averaging 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Blackhawks, including a 49 point performance against Portland on December 30, 2004, Sandrin was selected to play in the ABA All-Star Game and later signed with the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters halfway through the season.

Eric Sandrin "Eric will have an immediate impact on this team," commented Hofstetter. "Eric has the ability to take this team to the next level. He and Caleb Gervin are two of the most exciting players in the league to watch and we're thrilled to have both of them here in Bellingham."

Sandrin's professional career includes stops in Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Brazil, as well as a stint with the CBA's Sioux Falls SkyForce. Most recently Sandrin played with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2005 Southern California Summer Pro League, and was signed by the Sacramento Kings this pre-season, appearing in three exhibition games before being released.

Sandrin is expected to fill the role of the injured T.J. Williams, who suffered a broken hand earlier this season and is expected to be sidelined for the next month.

Sandrin played with the Slam on a tryout basis in their last game, a 115-112 loss to the Tacoma Navigators last Sunday, and will next appear on the court on Tuesday, December 20 as the Slam take on the San Jose Skyrockets at 7 pm.
