Burlington, IA (April 6, 2011) - The Burlington Bees pushed across seven runs on nine hits to beat Southeastern Community College 7-0 in an exhibition game at Community Field on Wednesday night. The Bees open the 2011 home schedule on Monday, April 11th against the Peoria Chiefs, the Midwest League Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, at Community Field at 6:30 p.m.

Right fielder Royce Consigli hit a two-run home run over the right field wall for the Bees in the second inning. 1B A.J. Kirby-Jones added an RBI double in the third inning.

LHP Jacob Brown tossed six innings and allowed no runs on two hits for Burlington. RHP Jeiler Castillo and RHP Drew Tyson each worked scoreless innings for the Bees.

The Bees open the 2011 season on Thursday night in Clinton. RHP Seth Frankoff (2-3, 2.28 ERA AZL A's/3-2, 3.30 ERA Vancouver Canadians in 2010) gets the start for Bees against RHP Forrest Snow (0-0, 0.00 Everett/0-1, 1.35 Clinton in 2010) for the LumberKings. It's the first game of a four-game series and pre-game coverage begins at 6:10 p.m. on Newsradio 1490 KBUR and online at gobees.com
