Bees acquire defenseman from Blazers

Hidalgo, Texas ---The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees today announced that the team has acquired defenseman Dale Butland from the Oklahoma City Blazers for right wing Emery Olauson.

Butland is a physical, 6-foot-4, 215-pound blueliner from Steinbach, Manitoba. The rookie has three assists and 105 minutes in penalties in 31 games this season. His penalty minute total was second on the Blazers.

"Dale is s strong, physical defenseman who will increase our total team toughness," said head coach Paul Fixter.

Olauson, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound winger from Canmore, Alberta is in his third pro season. This season, he has 20 points (9-11-20) in 31 games played.

The Bees return to action Friday evening at the Dodge Arena against the Wichita Thunder at 7:30 p.m. They also play host to Rocky Mountain this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. All tickets to Saturday's game are just $12 and veer will be $1 all night. In addition, Harley bandanas will be given out at the door. The team will wear Harley jerseys and auction them off after the game.

This Friday's game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 1240 AM while Saturday will be on Jammin' 104.9/95.3 FM. All games are broadcast on killerbeehockey.com. This Saturday's match will also be on XERV-9 (Televisa, Cable 19).
