Beasley Back In The Fold For Rockford Rampage

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford Rampage announce the signing of midfielder Jamar Beasley for their 2009-2010 Major Indoor Soccer League season, bringing the team to a 20-man roster. Per team policy, terms of the agreement are not released.
Beasley, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., played in 14 games and tallied nine goals and four assists for 22 points during his 2008-09 National Indoor Soccer League season with the Rampage. Beasley's season was cut short toward the end of the year because of a fractured patella, forcing him to miss the NISL playoffs and the Rampage's run to the championship match.
"He wants to get back and prove to everybody what type of player he is," Rampage head coach Jeff Kraft said. "He has high expectations. Unfortunately the injury held him back last season."
Beasley's offensive prowess is well documented in indoor. He led the Detroit Ignition in scoring for the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. Beasley was the 2006-07 MISL Most Valuable Player when he led the league with 40 goals and 107 points. His professional soccer career started in Major League Soccer, playing for the New England Revolution (1998-2001) and the Chicago Fire (2001).
The Rampage's 2009-2010 MISL opener takes place at 6:35 p.m. CT on Friday at the Baltimore Blast -- the league's defending champions. Rockford's home opener is set for 7:35 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, against the Milwaukee Wave at the MetroCentre.
