Bears to Host Martial Arts Night July 25th

NEWARK, NJ, June 17, 2003 – The 2002 Atlantic League Champion Newark Bears will host the first annual Martial Arts Night at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Friday, July 25th for the 7:05 PM game against the Pennsylvania Road Warriors.

Martial Arts Night is an opportunity to celebrate the study of Martial Arts and bring Dojos and Academy Schools together to enjoy an exciting night of Newark Bears Baseball. Groups of 30 or more will receive discounted ticket prices of $8.00 for a Box Seat and $6.00 for a Reserve Seat ticket.

Before the start of the game, there will be a Martial Arts parade around the field, as well as a 3-5 minute on-field demonstration prior to the first-pitch.

The Bears will be placing banners throughout the stadium, and each organization in attendance will have their name put up on the scoreboard during the game.

The Bears have hosted many successful Theme Nights thus far at the ballpark and have several planned for the remainder of the season. This coming weekend's games include Scout Night on Saturday June 21st. On Sunday, June 22nd the Bears are also holding their weekly Family Fun Day activities with a pre-game autograph session down on the field, and kids running the bases after the game. The autograph session will include all of the Bears players and coaches, including Manager Bill Madlock.
