Bears to Host Irish Heritage Night June 20th

NEWARK, NJ, June 17, 2003 â The 2002 Atlantic League Champion Newark Bears will host the first annual Irish Heritage Night at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Friday, June 20th for the 7:05 PM game against the Nashua Pride.
Irish Heritage night is an opportunity for Irish families to join together at the ballpark and enjoy an exciting night of Newark Bears Baseball. Groups of 30 or more will receive discounted ticket prices of $8.00 for a Box Seat and $6.00 for a Reserve Seat ticket.
Before the start of the game, McGovern's Pipers and Drummers will entertain fans with a special bagpipe performance. Other organizations being represented at the game include McGovern's Association and the Ironbound Irish Americans. The Bears will be placing the flag of Ireland in the outfield by the Championship flags, and each organization in attendance will have their name put up on the scoreboard during the game.
The Bears have hosted many successful Theme Nights thus far at the ballpark and have several planned for the remainder of the season. In addition to Irish Heritage Night, this coming weekend's games include Scout Night on Saturday June 21st. On Sunday, June 22nd the Bears are also holding their weekly Family Fun Day activities with a pre-game autograph session down on the field, and kids running the bases after the game. The autograph session will include all of the Bears players and coaches, including Manager Bill Madlock. "Theme nights are a great way for families, employees and businesses to come together at the ballpark.
