Beacons Make A Deal With The Danbury Trashers

PORT HURON, MI- The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) made a deal with the Danbury Trashers for a 6' 6" defenseman.

Defenseman, Ivan Curic, comes to Port Huron in exchange for a 6th round draft pick in next March's Amateur draft. In his six games played this season, Curic has 0 points and 4 PIM.

Curic played last season with the Oklahoma City Blazers and Fort Worth Brahmas of the CHL and Adirondack IceHawks of the UHL totaling 4 points in 18 games played including 37 PIM. His best season to date is his 2002-03 season with the St. Georges-de-Because Garaga of the QSPHL when he totaled 11 points in 23 games played including 9 assists and 44 PIM.

The Beacons bolster their D even more with the signing of another Defenseman, Shayne Tomlinson. Tomlinson who resides in Port Huron, returns to play where he spent three seasons with the Port Huron Border Cats. During that three-year span he tallied a total of 39 pints and 261 PIM in 207 games played.

Tomlinson, who agreed to play this Friday and possibly Saturday, is an Assistant Manager at the Onyx Rochester Ice Arena in Rochester, Michigan.
