BayHawks Top D-Fenders in Overtime

ERIE - The Erie BayHawks (24-21) topped the Los Angeles D-Fenders (15-30) in a seesaw battle that stretched into overtime 97 - 94.

Freshly returned from injured hand, Oliver Lafayette chipped in 5 of his 12 points in the overtime session and Maureece Rice nailed down the victory with a pair of free throws to seal the deal. Rice marked a BayHawk high 23 points for the day.

Jarvis Gunter earned adidas Player of the Game honors mark his first career double-double in just under 27 minutes of playing time with 10 points and 13 rebounds including a critical board late in OT. Erik Daniels had 18 points and 11 rebounds to mark his league high 27th double-double of the season.

Ryan Forehan-Kelly led the way for the D-Fenders with 24 points and 10 boards to mark a double-double. D-Fenders in double figure included: Brandon heath with 17, Dwayne Mitchell and Earl Barron with 16 each, and Mickael Gelabale with 11.

The BayHawks hit the road for back to back games in Los Angeles to take on the D-Fenders, Friday with tip off set for 6:30 PM (edt) and the Reno Big Horns, Saturday, with a 10 PM tip off. The BayHawks play their final home game Saturday, April 11 versus the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, with tip off set for 7 PM at the Tullio Arena. Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings and Gannon University will feature special giveaways throughout the game.
