Fort Wayne, IN (March, 29 2009) - The Colorado 14ers held off a late fourth quarter rally by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, to give them the 115-105 victory in Fort Wayne.
After the first quarter of play the 14ers led the Mad Ants by 3, 29-26. The 14ers scored the first 7 points of the second quarter to quickly put them up by 10, but the Mad Ants kept it close and were down only 8 to the league leaders going into the locker room at 52-60.
The 14ers blew ahead in the third and led by as many as 25points. Colorado shot 63% from the floor as they held the lead 90-76, going into the fourth.
The Mad Ants refused to go away and deflated the 14ers lead to just 8 with 6:30 minutes remaining. With a minute left on the clock the 14ers were up only 5 but would hold off the Ants to close out the game.
The 14ers finished with 7 players in double figures and were led by Josh Davis who finished with 20 points. Billy Thomas and Joe Dabbert finished with 14 a piece.
Mad Ants' center, Chris Hunter led all scorers with 25 points. Ron Howard finished with 20 and Walker Russell Jr. and Anthony Kent chipped in 18 a piece.
