BayHawks Rally to Win Nail Biter

ERIE -The Erie BayHawks (11-15) battled back from being down by 7 with 3:30 remaining to win a nail biter 95 - 94 over the Springfield Armor (5 -17) at the Tullio Arena with a crowd of 2524 on hand to witness the win.

Mike Gansey, in his first game back from injury, was the hero with 25 points including the game winning free throws in the closing seconds. With ice water cool, Gansey stepped to the stripe and dropped the first to knot the game and then stroked the winning shot to send the home crowd into a frenzy.

Before Cliff Clinkscales took a hard fall, suffering a leg injury in the process, he managed to notch a double-double with 12 points and 14 assists. Jackie Manuel added 19 points and Alade Aminu hit for 16 on the night.

Morris Almond led the way for the Armor with 24 points. Abdulai Jalloh chalked up a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists and T J Cummings added 18 points in the loss.

The BayHawks hit the road for a pair of games taking on the Maine Red Claws, Friday, January 29, for a 7:30 PM tipoff on WJET 1400 AM and Saturday, January 30 against the Springfield Armor for 1:00 PM tipoff on WFNN 1330 AM.

The BayHawks return home to square off against the Iowa Energy, next Wednesday, February 3 at 7 PM. It's another Smith's Hot Dogs One Buck Wednesday with one dollar Smith's hot dogs, beer, popcorn and pop. Tickets start at $5 and are sale now at the Tullio Arena box office.
