MOBILE, Ala. - A 0-0 deadlock was broken in the bottom of the 11th inning on a bad hop base hit by Ollie Linton to give the BayBears a 2-0 series edge in their best-of-five Southern League Championship Series on Thursday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Ryan Wheeler cracked a broken-bat liner over second to start the bottom of the 11th against Rafael Dolis (0-1). Dolis buckled down for the next two outs before Matt Davidson singled to left for his first Double-A hit. Linton followed Davidson and bounced a ball to first that skipped over Rebel Ridling's head into right field, scoring Wheeler with the game's only run.

Jarrod Parker started for the BayBears (2-0) and carried them through the first six frames while scattering four hits. He dealt with a number of baserunners in the first two innings as the Smokies (0-2) left two men on in the first and the second. Parker settled in from there and only allowed two hits in his final four frames.

Brooks Raley was dominant for Tennessee as he held the BayBears to just one hit in his six innings while facing the minimum 18 batters. Both bullpens picked up where the starters left off to continue the scoreless streaks.

Bryan Woodall worked two innings including the eighth where he wiggled out with a man on third to get Ridling to ground out to short. Evan Marshall tossed the ninth, and Kevin Munson (1-0) hung two more zeroes in the 10th and 11th.

The BayBears carry a 2-0 series lead into game three of the Southern League Championship Series on Saturday night at Smokies Park. Left-hander Tyler Skaggs (4-1) starts for the BayBears against righty Ryan Searle (5-3) at 6:15 central time. With a victory, the BayBears will be Southern League Champions for the first time since 2004 and for the third time in franchise history.

The broadcast will be available, starting at 5:45 with the BayBears Pepsi Pregame Show, on www.baybearsradio.com, ESPN Radio HD 107.3 FM HD-2 and Comcast Cable Channel 45. The BayBears will open the 2012 season at Hank Aaron Stadium on Tuesday, April 10 against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
