BayBears Fall to M-Braves After Three-Run Seventh

The Mobile BayBears fell 5-3 to the Mississippi Braves Tuesday night at Trustmark Park. RHP Michael Bolsinger held the M-Braves to just two runs on five hits through the first six innings, but Mississippi struck for three runs in the seventh to take a 5-2 lead. The BayBears made it a close game late, scoring one run in the top of the ninth inning, but left the tying run on base to end the game.

Bolsinger did not factor in the decision, exiting after six innings with the score tied 2-2. The Braves scored three runs off RHP Bo Schultz in the seventh inning when Alden Carrithers singled and scored on a RBI double from Todd Cunningham. Cunningham then crossed home plat on a RBI groundout from Christian Bethancourt. The Braves extended the lead later in the frame after Joe Terdoslavich reach on a fielding error and scored on a RBI single from Christian Marrero.

Mississippi LHP Sean Gilmartin settled for a no decision, allowing two runs on six hits over 6.2 innings. RHP Peter Moylan picked up the win for the Braves, holding the BayBears scoreless in 1.1 innings of work. Mobile recorded eight hits from eight different players, but was limited in scoring opportunities after leaving six runners on base.

Mobile and Mississippi continue their series on Wednesday, July 25, with first pitch at 7:00 PM.
