Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA (June 27, 2008)- The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings will be celebrating Independence Day in style Friday as they host the Rio Grande Valley Dorados in their final regular season home game of the season. In addition to the post game concert with Dove Award Winner, Jeremy Camp, the BattleWings will also be wearing special Fourth of July jerseys for the game.

The jerseys will feature the BattleWings customary black and green, but will have an image of the Statue of Liberty emblazoned on the front and back with stars on the shoulders and side panels.

"We wanted to do something really special with this game," said BattleWings owner Dan Newman. "The jerseys are beautiful and really highlight the significance of our game being on July 4th."

"After the players saw the design (of the jersey), they're wanting to keep them," Newman added. "But, we'll hold a jersey auction right after the game and let our fans have a one-of-a-kind souvenir from this special event."

The game will kick off at 5:00PM with the Jeremy Camp concert immediately following in the CenturyTel Center.
