Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA (September 19, 2007)-Three members of the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings 2007 squad participated in a Free Agent tryout at Texas Stadium last weekend. Chris Ibezim (DB), Nick Codutti (OL) and Marvin Byrdsong (LB/DE) took part in the combine-format event sponsored by the Dallas Desperados and attended by over 130 af2 Free Agents.
"All three of these guys did themselves a favor by participating," said BattleWings' Head Coach Jon Norris, who attended the one-day work out. "It was a no-cost opportunity for them to showcase their skills in front of five AFL teams."
In addition to the Desperados, the New York Dragons, Los Angeles Avengers, New Orleans VooDoo and Kansas City Brigade had scouts and coaches on site.
"I think some of these teams were pretty impressed with all three of our guys," Norris added. "Each one excelled with testing and drills and caught the eye of some of the coaches in attendance."
