NY scored three second-half goals to defeat Dayton with Michael Bustamante, Eric Stevenson and Mike Miazga all tallying.
The Battery enters Friday's game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Orlando City SC, Charleston's first defeat of the 2014 USL PRO season.
