Battery busy this weekend

This is a busy weekend for the Battery with a game away on Friday night and home on Sunday afternoon.

Friday @ Puerto Rico

The Battery will be looking to sweep the season series with the Islanders. Charleston defeated Puerto Rico 2-1 on a 89th minute winner in a game played at Blackbaud on July 22; Mt Pleasant native Ben Hollingsworth scored the winning goal.

The top 6 teams in the USL First Division reach the playoffs; the Battery enters the weekend with a record of 7-11-3, 24 points tied for 6th position. The Islanders are also in the playoff hunt 6-8-4, 22 points, 8th position.

Battery vs Mariners - Festival Hispano

Sunday is the Battery's annual Festival Hispano celebration as the Battery takes on another playoff rival the Virginia Beach Mariners. There will be salsa dancing and music before the game plus drink specials on the stadium concourse.
