CLEARWATER, FL - The Clearwater Threshers managed only six hits in two games, falling 3-1 and 3-0 to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels in a doubleheader on Friday evening at BayCare Ballpark.

In Game 1, right-hander Jean Cabrera made his second start of the season for Clearwater - allowing two runs on two hits and striking out five in 3.2 innings of work.

Outfielder Mickey Moniak, on an MLB rehab assignment from the Philadelphia Phillies, finished 2-for-3 with a double and triple, but the only run the Threshers (20-16) could push across came on a solo home run in the seventh by catcher Anthony Quirion in the 3-1 defeat.

In Game 2, lefty Jordi Martinez took to the mound for the Threshers, allowing two runs on four hits and walking four while striking out five in four innings.

The Mighty Mussels (24-12) opened the scoring in the third on an RBI triple by Jake Rucker and an RBI sac-fly from Mikey Perez, before adding another on a solo homer by Dylan Noisy in the seventh to make it 3-0.

The Threshers stringed together just three singles from Alexeis Azuaje, Marcus Lee Sang and Arturo de Freitas in the 3-0 shutout loss.

Clearwater and Fort Myers return to action on Saturday night in game six of the seven-game series. Right-hander Andrew Painter is scheduled to head to the bump for the home team. First pitch on Strikeout Cancer Night is set for 6:30 p.m, with coverage on the Threshers Broadcasting Network beginning at 6:20 p.m.
