Bartik has all the right numbers, except for wins

Daytona Beach Thunder News Release
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bo Bartik leads the World Indoor Football League in total offense, passing yardage, passing touchdowns and a few other assorted passing categories through the first two games of the inaugural 2007 season.
Bartik is also the only winless WIFL quarterback. Go figure.
"It just tells you that numbers can't buy victories,'' said Bartik, whose 0-2 Daytona Beach Thunder seeks its first victory Sunday afternoon at the Osceola Ghostriders. "We just need to keep getting better and better."
Bartik has thrown for 455 yards - over 170 yards more than the next quarterback who has played both games --and 11 touchdowns, but the Thunder is six points shy from turning 0-2 to 2-0.
"It's the little things," Bartik said. "Some series we haven't converted a first down. I need to take control and we need to score points every time."
An 0-2 start is relatively new territory for Bartik, whose 2006 Rome Renegades were 12-2. His 2005 team struggled to a 7-7 regular season record before catching fire in the playoffs and advancing to the NIFL championship game.
"We have a lot more games to play," Bartik said.
One positive so far has been the play of wide receiver Cory McKinney, who leads the league with 17 catches for 275 yards and five touchdowns.
"Cory's stepped up and makes me look good," Bartik said. "He want to learn the game. We communicate extremely well."
Thunder Head Coach Leon Bright says the 0-2 start isn't any indication of Bartik's play.
"He's the most consistent quarterback I've seen," Bright said. "He's going to help Cory get to the next level."
Game time Sunday is 4 p.m. with WIFLInternetwork audio beginning at 3:45.
