Philadelphia Barrage News Release

Philadelphia, PA (July 10, 2007) - Leaving the friendly confines of United Sports Training Center, the Philadelphia Barrage will try to bring the comforts of home with them to New Jersey at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Facing another intra-conference foe, the New Jersey Pride, the Barrage will be back on the road after another perfect two-game home stand. However, the road hasn't been as kind as USTC. The Barrage is undefeated at home, yet 1-2 on the road. Sitting atop the conference with Rochester, the Barrage cannot afford another road loss, especially against the Pride, the East's last-place team. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.

The Barrage offense will be relying on last game's Bud Light MVP Seth Goldberg and 2007 All-Star Ryan Boyle to keep the offense on its toes. The three lowest offensive point totals in a game for the Barrage have come in all three road games this season so the offense has its work cut out for them.

Philadelphia's defense will look towards 2006 Goalie of the Year, Brian "Doc" Dougherty to be a stone wall in the cage when it comes to the veteran goal scorers Jesse Hubbard and Kyle Harrison of the Pride. Dougherty's front line of Kyle Sweeney, Brett Moyer and Brian Spallina will have to stay alive, especially in the that tough third quarter where the Barrage have had the most trouble keeping the enemy out.

This is the first time these two teams will meet the in 2007 and as the regular season is coming into the final stretch of game play; both teams are eagerly looking for that next win. The Pride is coming down to a win-win situation, going into the game with a 2-5 record, to keep any hope of playoff contention alive. Philadelphia needs a win to stay on top of the East with conference rivals, the Rochester Rattlers and to make their fight for one of those post-season berths.

The Barrage will travel to the mile high city of Denver, Co., for a rematch of the 2006 Championship Game with the Denver Outlaws on Saturday, July 21. The game is set for 9:30 p.m. eastern time. Philadelphia returns home to face the New Jersey Pride in a rematch of Thursday's game. The "home" game will be held at Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University for another live broadcast on ESPN2. Face off is set for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the Barrage ticket office at 610.355.8999 or visiting www.philadelphiabarrage.com.
