Jacksonville Barracudas News Release

(Jacksonville, FL)The Jacksonville Barracudas continued their win-one-lose-one trend Saturday night against the Pee Dee Cyclones, as they won 6-5 in overtime.

Barracudas forward Shawn Roed scored 2:30 into the extra session, converting a beautiful set up from linemate Derrell Upton. It was Roed's second straight overtime winner at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, as he won the game on Thursday against the Knoxville Ice Bears.

The Barracudas were out shot 50-35, forcing goaltender Pat Berrigan to make 45 saves. The shot differential was made up for in part by three-point nights by forwards Roed, Chris Hackett, and Joel Petkoff.

The Cyclones stayed in the game thanks to a strong effort from forward Trevor Kasariewicz, who scored two goals and two assists for the Cyclones. Cyclones star forward Shaun Aebig picked up 3 assists on the evening, giving him 11 points in four games this season.

The Barracudas continue to improve their power play, converting on three of their nine opportunities.

The Barracudas will be back at home on Saturday, November 12, as they face off against the Columbus Cottonmouths. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling the Arena Box Office at 630-3900. For more information, call the Barracudas' office at 904-367-1423.
