April 14, 2003 - SPHL (SPHL)
Jacksonville Barracudas News Release
Mr. Chris Rapson, General Manager of the Jacksonville Barracudas of WHA2 today disclosed the new team logo and the logo for World Hockey Association 2.
The new team logo features a character of the fierce fighting fish carrying his hockey stick against a nautical theme representing the beautiful waters of the Atlantic Ocean off the First Coast. At the suggestion of head coach Ron Duguay the "Cuda" also sports an American Flag patch on his right shoulder.
The new logo was designed to be more circular in shape therefore fitting more conveniently on team sweaters and merchandise.
The Barracudas will be competing in the new WHA2 next season along with Macon, Miami, Orlando and as many as 8 additional franchises.
