Jacksonville Barracudas News Release

The Jacksonville Barracudas Hockey Club has signed free agent forward Kahlil Thomas for the remainder of the 2007 season. Thomas replaces forward Jeff Angelidis, who was placed on Season Ending Injured Reserve due to a recurring lower body injury that hampered him all season.

"Kahlil is a great two-way player in this league," said Head Coach Rick Allain on his new acquisition. "He's got a lot of playoff experience and will add some veteran leadership to our team."

The 32-year-old Thomas began the season with the Florida Seals. In 26 games he scored 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points, and was amongst the team leaders in plus minus with a +8 rating. The 5-foot-9, 200-pound forward is in his 11th season as a pro, spending time in the American, Central, and United Hockey Leagues, and starred most recently for the Oklahoma City Blazers, netting 87 points in 103 games.

Thomas will look to replace the production provided by Angelidis this season, as he goes on the Season Ending Injured Reserve, and will be unable to play for the remainder of the season. Angelidis has suffered from a groin injury since the beginning of the season. Angelidis picked up 34 points in 34 games this season with the Barracudas, and carried a -14 plus minus rating.

In a separate move, forward Guy Come has retired from hockey. Come had nine goals and 24 points in 35 games.
