
Barracudas release Almeida, sign defenseman Richard

Today, the Jacksonville Barracudas Hockey Club announced that they have released forward Bobby Almeida, in order to make room for defenseman Chad Richard.
Almeida played in four games for the Barracudas thus far, picking up one assist and was a minus five. He picked up no penalty minutes over the first four games.
Almeida was released in order to make room for recently signed defenseman Chad Richard. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Richard played in his first game for the Barracudas on Saturday, in the team's loss to the Florida Seals. In 377 professional games, the 31-year-old Richard has picked up 2,874 penalty minutes.
The 2-2 Barracudas will look to bounce back from their defeat on Thursday, November 3rd, as they face the Knoxville Ice Bears. Face off is at 7:05pm at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. It will be "Throw-Em Back Thursday" at the Arena as draft beer is 2-for-1 during the first period, and 50% off during the second period in the sports lounge for all fans 21-and-over.
