The Jacksonville Barracudas used a strong attack on the power play, and solid defense and goaltending in the third period to overcome the Huntsville Havoc 5-4 Friday night at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL.

Barracudas' Captain Greg LeColst scored the game winning goal, as he let loose a one-timer from the top of the circles that found it's way past Havoc goaltender Matt Carmichael.

The Huntsville Havoc opened the scoring with a goal on the power play from Tristan Senior. However, the Barracudas roared back with three power play goals to take a two-goal lead.

Barracudas' forward Ryan Webb got the scoring started for the Cudas, banking the puck in off of Havoc goaltender Matt Carmichael from behind the net.

Tyrone Garner orchestrated the Cudas' second goal, picking up the puck in the slot, and eluding Havoc defenders with a spin move, before dishing the puck off to Patrick Doherty who batted it into the empty net.

It was then Greg LeColst's turn, as he took a pass from Steve Zoryk and blasted a slap shot past Charmichael.

The Havoc were able to narrow the gap back down to one before the end of the period, as newly signed Justin Keller rifled a low, hard wrist shot past Cudas' goaltender Ryan Person just over a minute before the end of the period.

The second period also saw plenty of scoring, and the Havoc were the first to get on the board tying the game up as Huntsville Havoc forward Craig Bushey was able to beat Person.

The Barracudas regained the lead five minutes later as Andrew Morris let loose a blast from the point that was initially stopped by Carmichael, however the rebound deflected off a Havoc defender's shoulder and into the net.

Huntsville pulled the game even as Patrick O'Sullivan took a pass from fellow forward Tristan Senior, and put it into the Barracudas' cage.

The Barracudas dominated the shots on goal, 41-21, due in part to receiving 11 power plays throughout the game. The Cudas allowed just 6 shots while protecting the lead in the final period.

The Barracudas remain in Huntsville, as they face a rematch against the Havoc Saturday night.
