
Barons sign defenseman Holzemer

The Cleveland Barons Junior Hockey Organization are proud to announce the signing of defenseman Jake Holzemer to a tender for the 2004-05 season.
Holzemer, the 5'10 160lb, 4/11/87, from Toledo, OH is currently playing with the Toledo Cherokee of the Central States Hockey League. As a 15 year old he played in the CEHL with Team Toledo. Also, Holzemer has played 22 games with the Toledo IceDiggers of the NAHL this season where he had 1 assist and 28 PIM.
Holzemer has played on the Mid- America selects team in the US Olympic Festival as 14, 15 and 16 yr old. He was teammates with current Baron tenders Jake Cepis, Jake Coyle, Patrick Schafer and Eric Rex. As a sophomore in high school, Jake was on the All-city team.
Barons Head Coach/GM Tim Alexander has this to say on the signing of Holzemer. " Jake is a versatile player, his presence on the ice will be noticed in the upcoming season. With hard work, Jake has the potential to be a very good D-1 college player. I look forward to working with Jake to achieve that goal."
Holzemer currently attends Toledo St. John High School.
