
Barons shot down by Indians over the weekend

Cleveland Barons News Release
This past weekend the Soo Kewadin Indians came to the Barons home in Strongville,OH riding a 13 game unbeaten streak. After the weekend, that number grew to 15 with a 4-3 shootout win on Friday night and a 7-1 win on Saturday night.
The first game of the weekend featured the Indians jumping out to a 1-0 lead on a Nick Biondo goal, then late in the first, Barons defenseman Bob Helminen ( Calumet, MI) scored his 6th goal of the season on assists from Neal Sheehan ( Avon Lake, OH) and Vinny Jalaba (Beverley Hills, MI). That was short lived as former Baron Derek Punches answered back with 28 seconds left to give the Indians a 2-1 lead after one period.
In the second period, the Barons came out flying scoring the only goal in the period. Mike Wolff (Chicago, ILL), acquired earlier in the week from the Helena Bighorns, scored his first Baron goal, with assist going to Matt Ruberto ( Stoney Creek, ONT), giving the Barons a 2-2 tie going into the third.
In the third, Jason Blain scored to give the Indians a 3-2 lead. That was until Adam Fincik( Donora,PA) answered back to tie the scorewith an asst going to Nick Biondo (Parma, OH)., and the was the score at the end of regulation time.
In overtime ther were numerous chances but no scoring, which led to a shootout. In the shoot out Logan Bittle and Rob Hodnicki scored only to be answered Mike Ruberto (Stoney Creek, ONT) giving the Indians a 4-3 win. Barons goalie Ian Keserich( Parma, OH) had 43 saves in the lost.
On Saturday night , the Barons came out flying until the Soo's Andrew Broughton scored with 12 seconds left and Jason Blain scored six seconds later to give the Soo a 2-0 going into the lockerroom.
In the second period the Indians scored three more goals before Barons forward, Vinny Jalaba scored, with assists to Adam Fincik and Mike Wolff, to break up the shut out bid of goaltender Derek MacIntyre .Two more Indians goals in the third period brought a close a long evening in Strongville, OH with a 7-1 lost. Barons goaltender Ian Keserich had 35 saves in a losing effort.
New Barons arrive
The Cleveland Barons GM/Coach announce the acquisition of forward Mike Wolff from the Helena Bighorns. The 6'0 180 forward from Chicago, ILL was the Bighorns leading scorer this season. Also arriving to the North Coast of Ohio is defenseman Tony Wiseman from the Danville Wings of the USHL. The White Lake, MI native was a teammate of current Baron Vinny Jalaba at the Compuware Ambassadors last season. Also, arriving is goaltender Matt McBride who was with the Pittsburgh Forge last season. The Findlay ,OH native will be competing with goalie Ian Keserich for time between the pipes.$ for kids

The Barons will be hosting in state rival, Dayton Gems on both Friady(10-31) and Saturday (11-1) nights at the IceLand USA Rink in Strongsville OH.. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
