Oklahoma City Barons News Release

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Barons scored three goals in the final 12:46 of play with Jordan Oesterle notching the game-winning goal in overtime to lift Oklahoma City to a 3-2 win over the Texas Stars Wednesday night at Cedar Park Center.

With 3:59 remaining in overtime, Oesterle threw a shot towards the Texas net that glanced off the skate of Stars defenseman Derek Meech and slid past goalie Jussi Rynnas to give the Barons their third consecutive win and third win in five games this season against the Stars.

Down two goals with 8:45 remaining in regulation, Andrew Miller scored the first Barons goal, corralling the rebound of a Bogdan Yakimov shot from the low Texas slot and flicking a backhander past Rynnas, cutting the Stars lead to 2-1.

Iiro Pakarinen tied the game at the 15:22 mark of the third period when he received a pass from Oesterle near the point and skated backwards to the left circle before unleashing a shot that sailed past two screening Texas defenders and into the top-right corner of the Stars net.

Justin Dowling got the Stars on the board first when he took a Martej Stransky pass in the high Oklahoma City slot and lifted a backhander under the glove of Oklahoma City goal tender Laurent Brossoit at 13:51 of the second period. The goal ended a streak of more than 110 consecutive minutes of play by Brossoit without surrendering a goal.

Travis Morin extended Texas' lead to 2-0 the 7:40 mark of the third period before Oklahoma City began mounting its comeback just over halfway through the frame.

The Barons outshot the Stars 37-33 on the game, with every Oklahoma City skater registering at least a single shot on goal.

The two teams meet again Friday, Nov. 28 in a 7:30 p.m. start at Cedar Park Center.
