
Barons Release Michael Marcou from ATO

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons released defenseman Michael Marcou from his ATO (Amateur Tryout), General Manager Bill Scott announced today.
Marcou, a 5-11, 170-pounder from Kings Park, New York played two games with the Barons, registering one shot on goal. Prior to joining the Barons, he completed his fourth season of play with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. With the Minutemen, Marcou played in 117 games, scoring 43 points (17-26-43) and serving 77 penalty minutes. Was named the UMass Athlete of the Week for his performance against Vermont in the Frozen Fenway in January where he scored two goals, including the overtime game winner.
Prior to his stint with UMass, he played two seasons with the Waterloo Black Hawks in the United States Hockey League. With Waterloo, he appeared in 92 games, scoring 16 points (3-13-16) and serving 48 penalty minutes.
The Barons close out their regular season with three games this weekend. Friday, the Barons play the Houston Aeros, AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, in their final home game of the regular season at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Saturday, they travel to Cedar Park, Texas to take on the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars at 7 p.m. The regular season concludes Sunday at 3:30 p.m. when they take on San Antonio, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers. All three games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
