Birmingham Barons News Release

Birmingham, AL - During the 2013 season, Barons fans will have the chance to win $50,000 thanks to VisionFirst Eye Center. A VisionFirst eyeball target will be on display all season long on the VisionFirst Home Run Porch. If a Barons player hits the target on a home run, one lucky fan will take home the grand prize.

Fans will submit entries at Regions Field with an opportunity to donate to three charities as part of the VisionFirst promotion. The charities are Camp Smile-a-Mile, Lakeshore Foundation and Better Basics. Additionally, VisionFirst will donate $100 for every Barons homerun at Regions Field.

"How excited we at VisionFirst are to be partnering with the Barons for the inaugural season at the new Regions Field," says Dr. Mark Bearman, ophthalmologist at VisionFirst. "Fans of the ballpark will be drawn to the VisionFirst Home Run Porch and the great activities that will be offered there. We have an exciting and novel promotion planned for the season, which will benefit three wonderful area charities. One lucky fan may go home $50,000 richer!"

"One of the great characteristics of Regions Field is offering close and unique seating areas throughout the ballpark," said Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson. "The VisionFirst Home Run Porch not only allows fans to enjoy a Barons game up close but also provides close access to all of our family attractions in left field. We are proud to partner with VisionFirst in their sponsorship of the Home Run Porch."

The 2013 Birmingham Barons will play their home opener at Regions Field on Wednesday, April 10th against the Mississippi Braves, Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
