Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons, in conjunction with SMG, announced today a plan to modify the capacity of the Cox Convention Center for Barons games. The new capacity will be 7,500.

Capacity modification will consist of coverings for the seats in the upper levels of the Cox Convention Center. The Barons will still offer approximately 200 seats for $10 that are available on game nights only.

"There were two main objectives in modifying the capacity for our hockey games," said Prodigal LLC owner Bob Funk Jr. "First, we want to protect the value of our Season Seat Holders investment as they are partnering with our franchise for a season. Further, we will be able to utilize more ushers per sections providing better customer service for anyone who has purchased seats in a particular section. Second, we want to create the best environment for entertainment possible for our games. By modifying the capacity we can provide more intimate setting and the best experience for all of our fans."

"This change will improve the guest experience at Barons games," said Gary Desjardins, general manager of the Cox Convention Center. "The SMG staff at the Cox Convention Center are very proud of the quality of the service we provide to our guests and this will allow us to make it even better."

The Barons home opener is October 15 at the Cox Convention. Six other dates already confirmed on the schedule are October 28, November 8 and 18, December 9 and 31 and January 27.

The Barons offer a wide variety of options ranging from full Season Seats to 21, 10 and six-game mini packs. For more information about seats, call 232-GOAL (4625) or by visiting the Barons website at okcbarons.com.
