Barons Forward Patrick Schafer Commits to The Ohio State University

Parma,OH-The Cleveland Barons of the North American Hockey League are proud to annonce that forward Patrick Schafer has committed to The Ohio State University for the 2006-07 season.

Schafer, the 5'10", 170lb forward from Hilliard, OH, had 40pts (19G-21A) in his first year with the Barons. Patrick joined the the Barons from the Cleveland Midget Major Barons. His forty points this season ranked him fourth in scoring on the team.

Schafer will join fellow teammate Nick Biondo in donning the Scarlet and Gray Jersey. Otherformer Barons that have played at various level in the organization that have called The Ohio State University home include: Ian Keserich, Tom Fritsche, Sean Collins, Brian Kaselak and former Buckeye captain Taj Shaffnit.

Schafer becomes the 6th current Baron to commit to a CCHA school this year. Matt joins: defenseman Steve Silver (Western Michigan), defenseman Nick Biondo (Ohio State University), forward Kurt Kivisto (Michigan State), forward Jacob Cepis (Bowling Green) and defenseman Matt Shouneyia ( Michigan State).
