
Barons defeat Dayton Gems 5-1

The Cleveland Barons dealt the Dayton Gems a Halloween trick of their own by defeating the Gems 5-1 at the IceLand USA Rink in Strongsville.
The Barons jumped out quickly in the second minute of game with forward mike Ruberto scoring his 9th goal of the season with assists going to Chris Barger and Brian Bicek. The Barons scored a second time at the 15:38 mark with Kurt Kivisto scoring his first career junior goal with the helper going to John Goebel.
In the second period things kept rolling for the Barons as they scored twice again, with the Brian Bicek scoring his 8th goal of the year with Adam Fincik and Matt Ruberto picking up the assists. Mike Ruberto scored his second goal of the game with Barger and Bicek getting the helpers to give the Barons a 4-0 lead after two periods.
The third period opened with the Gems Niles Moore spoiling the shut out bid of goaltender Ian Keserichgetting them to a 4-1 margin. Vinny Jalaba closed out the scoring at the 14:33 mark with his 8th goal of the year with assists from Adam Thomas and Kurt Kivisto. Goaltender Ian Keserich had a 22 save in the game to get his record to 9-5-1.
The Barons and Gems return for a 7:05 match back at the Strongsville IceLand USA Rink. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for kids under 12.
