Barons Buried by IceDiggers

The Cleveland Barons four game winning streak came to a halt tonight as the Toledo IceDiggers defeated the Cleveland Barons 4-3.

The IceDiggers came out in the first period with a goal from Lukas DeLorenzo to give Toledo the 1-0 lead. With two minutes left in the period, Barons winger Mike Ruberto converted an errant pass from IceDigger Jason Kearney to tie the score.

In the second period, it was all Toledo, in the first six minutes scoring 3 quick goals, by DeLorenzo, Michel Plesac and Joe Watson drove Baron Ian Keserich out of the game. Keserich had a disappointing night letting in 4 goals on 12 shots. He was replaced by matt McBride making his Baron debut. The barons responded with scoring two goals in the latter half of the second. Adam Fincik and Mike Ruberto, his second of the evening, brought the Barons to within one at 4-3.

In the third, the barons were peppering Diggers goalie Jason Kearney , but he with held the barrage of shots at the end to give the IceDiggers the victory.
