Parma, OH- The Cleveland Barons of the North American Hockey League have tendered six players and drafted five players for the upcoming 2005-06 season..
The following players have signed a tender with the Barons and were exempt from the NAHL open draft:
Trent Bonnett, Defenseman, Cleveland Barons Midget Major, 6'3" 195lb Erie, PA
Strong defenseman with scoring ability, gives the Barons much needed size on the
Blue line
Anthony McIntyre, Forward, Little Caesars Midget Major, 6' 0", 170lb
West Bloomfield, MI. A versatile forward that can score. A former teammate current Baron Carter Camper , McIntyre provides the Barons with a scoring threat on wing.
Aaron Pietila, Forward, Honeybaked Midget Major, 5'10", 175lb, Brighton, MI. Pietila is a gritty and versatile player, can play defense also, has a scoring touch around the net
Brett Jendra, Forward, Chicago Chill Midget Major, 5'9", 170lb. Darien, IL. Great skater with grit, can be used in all situations, great penalty killer, always fins a way to get the puck in the net.
Chris Reed, Defenseman, Cleveland Barons Midget Major, 6'0", 175lb, Solon, OH. Smooth skating defenseman, will make the Barons power play much stronger.
Brady Yevins, Defenseman, Pittsburgh Hornets Midget Major, 6"1", 185lb, Houston, PA. A stay at home defenseman, that gives the Barons size and strength in their own zone.
The following players were selected by the Barons in the NAHL draft:
Furman South, Forward, Pittsburgh Hornets Midget Major, 6'2", 190lb, Sewickley, PA. A big natural goal scorer, can be a big time point producer in the NAHL.
Michael Hull, Forward, Honeybaked Midget Major, 5'10", 165lb, Harper Woods, MI. A natural goal scorer, looks to give the Barons more scoring depth up front.
Kevin Miller, Defenseman, Pittsburgh Aviators, 6'3" 185lb, Pittsburgh, PA.
A big , strong defenseman, looks to give the Barons a physical presence in the defenses zone.
Joe Greener, Forward, Soo Kewadin Indians Midget Major, 6'1", 205lb, Basingstoke-Hants, England. Played 7 games with Soo Kewadin Indians Jr.A. A prototypical power forward with natural scoring ability.
Anthony Schooley, Forward, Honeybaked Midget Minor, 5'10", 170lb, Inkster, MI.
A young natural goal scorer, one of top rated young forwards. Ready to make the next step to the NAHL.
