
Barnstormers Win Rain Shortened Affair 6-2 over Patriots

Lancaster, PA - The Lancaster Barnstormers (15-18) won the rubber game of the three game midweek series over the Somerset Patriots (21-10) 6-2 in a rain shortened five inning affair from soggy Clipper Magazine Stadium Thursday evening.
In the bottom of the second inning second baseman Travis Denker slugged an opposite field home run (4) to right field to give Lancaster an early 1-0 lead.
The Patriots responded in the top of the fourth inning as first baseman Eddy Martinez-Esteve pounded an opposite field two run home run (1) to right field that gave Somerset a 2-1 advantage.
In the ensuing half inning the Barnstormers tallied five runs on six hits to take a commanding lead which they would not relinquish. First baseman Daryle Ward and Denker each hit RBI singles while right fielder Ryan Harvey crushed a three run home run (9) to straight away center field that made the score 6-2 which would be the final.
Brian Grening (1-2) earned the win. Graham Taylor (2-1) suffered the loss.
