Buffalo, N.Y. (December 29, 2004) --- Buffalo Bandits General Manager Kurt Silcott announced today the team has signed defensemen Billy Dee Smith and Greg Floris. As is club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Smith set the fourth-highest single-season penalty minute total (56) in franchise history last season. He currently ranks ninth all-time in franchise history in penalty minutes (102). In 22 career games, Smith has scored seven points (4G, 3A), while posting 102 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted with Buffalo's first round selection (3rd Overall) in the 2002 NLL Entry Draft.
Floris appeared in one game for the Bandits last season, prior to being traded to Vancouver on March 24, 2004 in exchange for Andy Ogilvie. In 13 career games, he has recorded four points (G, 3A) and 10 penalty minutes. All three games that he appeared in during the 2004 season were against the Arizona Sting. Since being entering the league in 2002, Floris has never appeared in a game where one of the two participating teams was not Arizona/Columbus.
