Bandits Sign Five to One-Year Deals

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 16, 2015) --- Buffalo Bandits General Manager Steve Dietrich today announced the team has agreed to terms on one-year contracts with transition player Andrew Watt and recent Bandits draftees Anthony Malcolm, Mike Triolo, Tim Edwards, and Matthew Clearwater-Francisco

Watt has played two seasons with the Bandits and totaled eight points (4+4) in 20 games. He has also collected 62 loose balls during his tenure with Buffalo. Before his time with the Bandits, Andrew spent five seasons with the Minnesota Swarm where he played in 68 games and tallied 67 points (41+26).

The Bandits selected Malcolm with their second-round pick (11th overall) after not having a first-round pick in the 2015 NLL Draft. Malcolm played his collegiate lacrosse at Mars Hill University and scored 65 points (35+30) in 16 games for the Lions last season.

Buffalo took Mike Triolo at No. 27 overall with their second pick of the night in the third round of the 2015 NLL Draft. In 15 games for Pfeiffer University, Triolo had 46 points (23+23). Mike is a native of Brooklyn, Ontario.

Tim Edwards was taken in the fourth round (36th overall) of the recent 2015 NLL Entry Draft by the Bandits. Edwards will be a rookie this season after spending four years at nearby Canisius College in Buffalo. In 57 career games over the span of 4 seasons for the Golden Griffins, Edwards tallied 145 points (64+80) as a midfielder. He is a native of Jamesville, New York.

Buffalo capped off draft night by acquiring the 55th overall pick from the Saskatchewan Rush in exchange for a 2018 sixth-round pick. With the selection, the Bandits took Matthew Clearwater- Francisco of the Mimico Mountaineers. In 82 career games at the Junior A level, Clearwater- Francisco tallied 42 points (15+27).
