Bandits Shutout Thunder in Second Exhibition Game

Chicago Bandits News Release
In front of a near sellout crowd, the Chicago Bandits took on the Rockford Thunder, who looked more like the Rockford Peaches, in the last preseason game before regular season play kicks off on Wednesday, June 3 at 7:05 pm against the Philadelphia Force.
The Bandits were running on all cylinders showing grit and determination in both offense and defense. Every Bandits pitcher saw playing time from the veteran Jennie Finch to the rookie Brandice Balschmiter and each held their own against a smothering Thunder lineup.
Defensive highlights include second baseman Kristie Fox producing a diving play that saved the shutout and shortstop Aileen Morales snatching a stifling line drive and flipping the ball to Stacy May at third for a remarkable double play.
The orange and black showed consistency with their bats and maintained solid hits throughout the contest including a two run homerun by sophomore catcher Rachel Folden.
The Bandits look to carry this winning momentum into their home opener on Wednesday and pick up where they left off last season.
Come out and support the reigning 2008 NPF Champions and partake in the first promotional night of the season, Championship Recognition Night, where we will relive the Bandits' Cinderella run to the âship.
