Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
DAVENPORT, Iowa - The River Bandits scored six unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth innings to erase a 5-3 deficit and beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps 9-5 on Tuesday night at Modern Woodmen Park. Jake Rogers drove in three runs and finished a triple shy of the cycle. Ryan Hartman picked up the win in relief.
Jack Suwinski hit the first pitch of the game out of the ballpark for Fort Wayne (9-16) as part of a two-run first inning. Quad Cities (13-10) countered Suwinski's long ball with back-to-back jacks from Rogers and Rodrigo Ayarza in the second inning to tie the game, 2-2. Ayarza gave the Bandits a brief lead in the sixth with a sacrifice fly. The TinCaps responded with three runs in the seventh on a Rod Boykin two-run homer and an RBI double from Reinaldo Ilarraza. Quad Cities followed with a bases loaded walk to Randy Cesar and a two-run single from Rogers to regain the lead, 6-5. After an RBI single from Stephen Wrenn, Fort Wayne shortstop Fernando Tatis extended the bottom of the eighth by committing an error on an Alex De Goti ground ball. Cesar followed with an RBI double to cap the 9-5 win for Quad Cities.
Bandits' starter Enoli Paredes received a no-decision after allowing two runs in five innings. Hartman (3-0) came out of the bullpen and tossed three innings, yielded three runs and two hits. Erasmo Pinales pitched a perfect ninth. Evan Miller took the loss for Fort Wayne. Miller (0-1) allowed four runs, three earned on three hits in 1.1 innings.
