
Bandits rally to win a thriller in overtime against Wichita Falls

St. Louis Bandits News Release
The St. Louis Bandits improved their record to 21-6-2 with a 4-3 overtime win on the road against the Wichita Falls Wildcats at the Kay Yeager Coliseum on Friday night. The Wildcats started the scoring on an Anthony Iaquinto goal early in the first period. St. Louis evened the score midway through the first period when Brendan Sheehan (Grant Gorczyca, Kyle Greco) scored his 12th goal of the season. Brett Hartung scored at 13:04 of the first period to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead. The Bandits quickly responded 21 seconds later as Soren Jonzzon (Dan Weiss, Kyle Greco) tallied his 14th goal of the season to tie the game at two.
The score would remain tied at two until the third period, when Ricky Brown scored off of an Anthony Iaquinto assist at 1:18 to give the Wildcats a 3-2 lead. The Bandits once again tied the game 7:10 into the third period when Jordan Bourgonje (Justin Kirchhevel) scored his 5th of the season. The game remained tied through regulation and headed to sudden death overtime. Bandits forward Grant Gorczyca (Brendan Sheehan) scored his team leading 18th goal of the season at 1:21 of overtime to give the Bandits a 4-3 victory.
The two teams face off again Saturday night in Wichita Falls at 7:05 PM. The Bandits return home to the Hardee's IcePlex on December 28th and 29th to face the Topeka Roadrunners.
