Buffalo Bandits News Release
BUFFALO, N.Y. (August 30, 2010) - Buffalo Bandits Director of Lacrosse Operations Scott Loffler today announced that former captain Rich Kilgour has been named as an assistant coach.
"I watched last season from the stands and it was difficult. It'll be good to be back inside the glass. And I think I know the head coach pretty well, so the transition from the floor to the bench shouldn't be that difficult," said Kilgour. "We have a great group of guys and an awesome fan base so I am extremely excited to be back in the fold."
The 41-year-old Kilgour had an 18-year playing career (1992-2009), all with the Bandits. Kilgour served as Bandits captain for 12 seasons from 1998 to 2009. His teams made the playoffs 13 times and won four championships (1992, '93,'96 & 2008). Kilgour played in 200 career regular season games as a defensive specialist for the Bandits, scoring 317 career points (94 goals, 223 assists). Kilgour was a part of the 1993 champion Bandits, the only team to go undefeated through the regular season and playoffs (10-0) in league history.
