
Bandits Defeat Swarm 16-14

The Buffalo Bandits handed the Minnesota Swarm their first loss of the season Saturday night. The Bandits defeated the Swarm by a score of 16-14. The victory now moves Buffalo to 4-4 on the season.
Roger Vyse led all Buffalo scorers with three goals and four assists for seven points. Mark Steenhuis was a close second with six points (1+5). Cory Bomberry also posted six points (2+4) including the game-winning goal. John Tavares added five points (2+3) to his season total giving him a total 44 (15+29) on the season. Delby Powless added four points (2+2). Brandon Swamp registered two goals on the night, the first of his professional lacrosse career.
Billy Dee Smith and Pat McCready led Buffalo with 5 penalty minutes each in the game.
Ken Montour made 38 saves en route to his first victory of the season. The netminder allowed 16 goals off 52 shots on goal.
The Bandits will next square off with the Chicago Shamrox at the Sears Center on Sun., Feb. 24. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
Buffalo's next home game will be Sat., Mar. 1 against the Philadelphia Wings. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $19 to $29.
