Buffalo Bandits News Release
BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bandits' quest to return to the NLL Finals and capture their first championship since 2008 will resume on December 3 when the team hosts the Albany FireWolves for its 2022-23 home opener at KeyBank Center.
Last season, the Bandits fell to the Colorado Mammoth in three games in the Finals after finishing the regular season with a league-best record of 14-4. The teams will meet again for the first time since that dramatic series on Saturday, March 18 in Buffalo.
Forward Dhane Smith won the NLL's MVP award for the second time in his career following a 135-point campaign. He set the NLL's single-season assist record with 94 helpers. He finished just three points shy of breaking the league's all-time single-season record, a mark he set back in 2016. Smith is just one of five players in NLL history to win at least two MVPs.
Matt Vinc was named the league's Goaltender of the Year for the eighth time in 12 seasons.
Smith, Vinc and defenseman Steve Priolo were named First Team All-League and Tehoka Nanticoke was named to the All-Rookie Team. Steve Dietrich also earned NLL General Manager of the Year honors.
