Bandits acquire pair of second round picks

Buffalo, N.Y. (February 1, 2004) — Buffalo Bandits General Manager Kurt Silcott announced today the team has acquired a second-round selection in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft and a second-round selection in the 2007 NLL Entry Draft from the Arizona Sting in exchange for forward Jonas Derks. All transactions are subject to league approval.

Appearing in 39 career games for the Bandits, Derks currently ranks sixth in franchise history in goals (71), seventh in points (67) and eighth in assists (67). The Oshawa, Ontario native played in three games this season for Buffalo, registering three goals and five assists for eight points.

Buffalo acquired Derks from the New York Saints on February 13, 2002 along with Roy Colsey and Brad Dairon in exchange for Chris Driscoll, Jason Clark, Phil Wetherup and Rob Kirkby.
